Manna Dew (http://mannadew.co.uk/) are definitely the new gluten free place to look out for. They have really pushed the envelope for gluten free bakeries in London. They have come up with their own unique concept which I think is going to be a great hit in London. A gluten free artisan cake cafe, serving gluten free patisserie cakes with natural sweeteners (coconut sugar and organic agave nectar) which are a treat to the eye as well. They will be opening up their store in the next few weeks in Battersea but in the meantime you can order their cakes online. The cakes are made with incredible detail and come at a pleasingly affordable price.
I couldn’t have imagined a better end to the weekend. Sunshine and gluten free artisan cakes in the park.
Mango Passion – a light and refreshing citrus flavour which complemented this creamy cake delightfully.
Salted Caramel Chocolate – my favourite out of the four. Crunchy caramel on the top with a rich chocolate cake and a creamy mousse.
Carrot cake – a little dense but still very pleasing. Cream on top was the perfect finish to the cake and didn’t make it too rich.
Noisette – a dense chocolate ganache with a hazelnut cream with powdered chocolate. A delightful combination of chocolate and hazelnut.
Manna Dew is based out of Battersea High Street and will be opening up in the few weeks. Apart from cakes they will be serving sandwiches, quiches and bread. Keep and eye out for these guys as they are not be missed.
