Gluten Free Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake

I made this cake for a dinner party the other week and thought I would share it with you as it turned out to be very popular.

I must warn you beforehand that this cake is not for the dieter.


  • 100 grams of gluten free digestives
  • 160 grams of butter
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 100 grams brown sugar
  • 400 grams milk chocolate
  • 150 ml single cream
  • Blueberries
  • Salt


Crush up the digestives and mix them with 60 grams of melted butter



Place the digestives and butter in a cake tin (approx. 24cm) and place in fridge to cool for 20 minutes


To make the caramel, add 100 grams of butter and 100 grams of brown sugar in a pan and stir continuously until melted


Add in the condensed milk and stir until the mixture has become thick. Make sure you stir continuously to make it a smooth mixture. Pour mixture on top of base layer and put in the fridge to cool down.


Warm cream in a pan and then melt all of the chocolate. Then pour on top of caramel. Place in the fridge for a few hours or preferably overnight.


Take the cake out of the fridge an hour before serving add berries and sprinkle with salt and serve ice cream.
